Description
Coin jewellery; brooch made from an 1887 silver shilling coin; the reverse of the coin has been engraved and polychrome enamelled with an image of a crowned shield, with the motto of the Order of the Garter around the border; obverse of the coin still shows the 1887 Jubilee bust of Queen Victoria, and the usual legend around the border; brooch conversion probably made in the 1890s in Birmingham; fastening pin on the reverse.
