Description
Coin jewellery; tie pin made from an 1838 silver groat coin; the reverse of the coin has been engraved and polychrome enamelled with an image of right-facing seated Britannia with trident and shield; obverse of the coin still shows the young bust of Queen Victoria, and the usual legend around the border (but very faint); tie pin conversion probably made in the 1890s in Birmingham; pin mount on the reverse.
