Pen wiper; machine-pressed copper alloy circular container, embossed with an image of the passage of the Alps by Napoleon I. Fitted within is a leather collar cut into a series of overlapping tabs (for wiping dip pen nibs). The marked 'M' number refers to an attempt at Eastgate House circa 1973/74 to select objects for an illustrated catalogue.
