Carriage lamp; candle lamp for a carriage, cart or horse-drawn van; rectangular tinplate body, oval chimney & hinged drop-down door to the rear; japanned black (mostly rusted away); rounded rectangular glass front lens (cracked) with bevelled edges, set in an ornate plated bezel/shroud; rectangular right-hand side lens (cracked and a piece missing) set in a plated bezel; ruby lens in rear door; brass spring-loaded candle holder with patented locking device; the spring has remains of cloth covering; plated copper reflectors, very worn; Norris collection.
