Printed poster or broadsheet; the Chatham Society for the Protection of Property, dated 13th October 1814; the fund was to be used to prosecute offenders against the person or property of every subscriber, thereby relieving an individual of the sole expense of bringing a prosecution; the society hoped that an additional benefit was that of a reduction in the number of crimes generally; good condition, some slight damage at edges.
