Brass (copper alloy) patent candle lamp; made by Palmer & Co of London (patented c.1830); spring action with bayonet-fit cap and narrow drip-pan; cylindrical shaft, triangular base with floral scroll design; weighted base for stability. Used with metallic wick candles that gave more light than conventional candles.
