Playing cards; made by Jose Argente of Valencia, Spain; this is a complete 'stripped' deck of 40 cards produced especially to play the game of 'Ombre'; there are no 8's or 9's, there a '1' instead of an ace, and a knight on foot as a '10', a mounted knight as '11', and a king as '12'; the different suits are shown as swords (espadas), gold coins (oros), knobbly cudgels (bastos) and chalices (copas).
