Description
Sword, Anglo-Saxon; long 2-edged sword blade, small copper alloy pommel; apparently pattern-welded blade; corroded & pockmarked; displayed with modern leather grip & perspex hilt. Recorded as 'found in the SE & C Railway Ballast Pit to the South of The Higham Uralite Works, from graves'. See first image attached, at the top. This and other items were dug up by workmen and sold to the museum.
