Model aircraft; accurate scale model of a Supermarine Spitfire, painted in black, night camouflage colours, with markings for 65 Sqn Royal Air Force.
A single seat fighter/photo-reconnaissance aircraft used by The Royal Air Force and many other allied countries before, during and after WW2. First flight 05 March 1936. Introduced into the RAF on 04 Aug 1938, 20351 were produced in numerous variants between 1938 and 1948, finally being retired from the Irish Air Corps in 1961.The primary users were the Royal Air Force, the Royal Canadian Air Force and the United States Air Forces.
Labelled 'These model aeroplanes were built entirely by Mr R Kemp of Gillingham'.
