Description
Model aircraft; accurate scale model of a Gloster Gladiator (or Gloster SS.37). This was the last British biplane fighter built for the Royal Air Force. It was produced between 1935 and 1940 in 3 major versions - the Mk1, Mk2 and the Sea Gladiator, a total of 747 being built. Its first flight was on 12.09.1934, it was introduced into the Royal Air Force on 23.02.1937 and finally retired from the Portugese air force in 1953.
Labelled 'These model aeroplanes were built entirely by Mr R Kemp of Gillingham'.
