Description
Ephemera; book, 'The Murder at the Bridge Woods, Rochester, 1831'; actually a bound booklet recounting the murder of Richard Faulkner Taylor and trial of John Any Bird Bell. Two brothers, John and James Bell were apprehended for the crime. John Bell was later found guilty and executed, but his brother was acquitted. In later life it is said that he re-enacted the murder in Strood Fair as a sideshow.
