Description
civic insignia; Chairman's badge & chain, Strood Rural District Council; silver gilt shield-shaped badge with polychrome enamel Strood arms & motto; silver chain with 25 alternating shield & scroll-shaped links, about half engraved with holders details. The pendant badge presented by Members & Officers of the Council in commemoration of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953; hallmarked Birmingham sterling silver, 1953. The chain presented by F M Hollands Esq in 1959; hallmarked Birmingham SS 1959.
