Candle lantern; type used by shepherds (and others); lightweight cylindrical lamp of sheet metal; 'glazed' with 4 panels of translucent material (horn? or later replacement?); conical top with 3 vent holes with cruciform slots; carrying ring on top. Metalwork has been lacquered.
