Watercolour painting; a sepia view of Rochester from the fields above Star Hill; shows two windmills; the smaller mill was known as 'Old Mill', built in 1787; Nathaniel Stedman built the larger 'Friday's Mill'; it had two fantails, an outer staircase & carved figure of Mercury. Susan Twopeny was the eldest daughter of Edward Soan Twopeny, a lawyer in the family business in the cathedral precincts. Her younger brother William was also an artist and bequeathed works to the British Museum.
