Watercolour painting; a sepia view of Rochester Castle, the River Medway & Ladbury's cottage; the bridge is in background and a topsail barge on the river. Susan Twopeny was the eldest daughter of Edward Soan Twopeny, a lawyer in the family business in the cathedral precincts. Her younger brother William was also an artist and bequeathed works to the British Museum.
