sword blade (scramasax); single-edged blade; thick blunt, almost straight top edge; tapering tang; top of blade has lug to assist mounting of handle; possible line decoration down length of blade. Possibly one of the items donated by S J Whawell in 1912. Listed with Anglo-Saxon objects (the unregistered 'X-number' series); no provenance, but probably Kent.
