Pencil drawing; small, but VERY fine detailed drawing of Rochester viewed from Frindsbury, apparently in 1837; shows castle, old bridge, cathedral, numerous sailing vessels; small factory with chimney on Frindsbury foreshore; cattle; by W B Rye; unframed. William Brenchley Rye was born in Rochester circa 1818, worked at The British Museum, London. This was donated to the Eastgate House museum in circa 1900.
