Watercolour sketch; curtain walls of Rochester castle, with part of a square tower with some brickwork & fencing; by Stephen Aveling; unframed. Donated some time before 1905? Stephen Aveling was a family member of the company who specialised in the manufacture of road rollers. He wrote articles for Archaeologia Cantiana in the 1880's.
