Chainmail shirt, Japanese? very poor condition; padded textile garment, buttoned opening at the front; mail of butted rings extends down to elbows; textile shows much (old) moth activity and has been damaged by the weight of the attached mail; some decorative gold-coloured threadwork around the jacket yoke and button seams; the textile of the sleeve area shows a design of storks or cranes in gold-coloured thread on a green background; the buttons seem to be bone; the mail is lightly corroded.
