Description
Lithographic print; shows the tomb of bishop John De Sheppey (died 1360) shortly after it was discovered in Rochester Cathedral in 1825; shows recumbent bishop in robes & mitre, hands praying; title page for a book of sketches of Rochester. Mounted on card. Quite dusty & soiled. Produced for 'Sketches of the Picturesque in Rochester and its Vicinity', published by Dadson in 1825.
