Description
Engraving of a north west view of Rochester in 1738; covers Strood, Rochester & part of Chatham, viewed from Frindsbury Hill; poor perspective in places, castle keep exaggerated; 20 places are labelled; short history of Rochester printed beneath. Backed onto card, quite yellowed & some brown staining from damp wood backing of old framing. Produced for Buck's 'Views of Ruins of Castles & Abbeys in England' (1726-1739).
