Description
Large engraved print of a page from 'Rapin's History of England' published by J & J Cundee in circa 1813-1817; shows the death of King Richard II in fight with knights. Some foxing & light soiling. This book was originally published by Paul de Rapin in 1724, later translated by Rev Nicolas Tindall, and later updated & re-published. This is from the early 19th century J & J Cundee edition. The image shows the King dying in combat, when in reality he died imprisoned, so it may be confused with King Richard III (who died in battle).
