Ceramic jug, probably Greek; red ware with overall black slip; bulbous jug set on a pedestal base; neck has flaring rim; handles rise from body on either side and join neck below rim; heavily repaired & filled (adding to weight!). Used for serving wine? Presumably from a late 19th/early 20th century private collection.
