Ephemera; photograph of a young lady; albumen print, 'carte de visite' card; shows a young woman, standing with left hand in pocket, her right hand holding her hat which is placed on a cabinet. Horton collection.
These cards were very popular in the 1860s, and could be traded among friends and visitors, and collected and displayed in albums - the craze was known as 'Cardomania'.
